About Derek Cheung
Derek Cheung is a member of the Citrix XenDesktop product marketing team and helps to drive the overall go-to-market strategy for the product line, including field and channel strategy. Since stepping into the product marketing role for XenDesktop, he has been responsible for orchestrating the successful launch of XenDesktop with the field and channel organizations, and continues to evangelize this emerging technology among partners, customers and the industry as a whole.

About Gareth Kitson
Gareth is the Product Marketing Manager for AppSense. He works with customers, partners and analysts to design solutions that maximize the adoption of desktop virtualization and provides leadership throughout the commercial messaging and delivery of the AppSense solution set.

About Jon Wallace
Jon Wallace is a Principal Consultant with AppSense and has been involved with Terminal Services based technology for over 10 years. Having seen the perspective from the customer, advisor and vendor his style is very much K-I-S-S (keep it simple stupid) when thinking of solutions. Interestingly, he has a background as a professional magician so obviously IT is a perfect career choice - they're both smoke and mirrors after all!

About Kumar K. Goswami, Co-Founder & CEO
Kumar has a 19-year track record of innovation both at large and small companies. He founded Kaviza based on his experience as Director at HP Laboratories where he led and managed HP's next-generation IT and data-center automation research. In this role, over five years back, he led HP's early VDI initiatives, which included developing prototypes for large financial services customers. Kumar realized in the process how complex and costly current VDI architectures are, and set out to address this with Kaviza. Prior to HP Labs, Kumar was co-founder and president of Kovair from 1999-2002, a CRM company that was a pioneer in the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) space. Kovair was recognized as a Top100 Emerging Company by Computerworld, received $20M in funding from tier-one venture capitalists such as NEA and Sutter Hill, and had Fortune 100 customers and partners. Kovair continues to operate successfully. Kumar has a Ph.D. in distributed and fault-tolerant computing from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He was a NASA Graduate Student Research Fellow.

About Thin Desktop
Thin Desktop makes it easy to turn a Windows based PC into a locked down device that restricts the user to run a single application which becomes the entire user interface. The standard Windows desktop and start menu will be prevented from appearing.
ThinLaunch includes the following features and benefits:

Re-purpose the PC, avoiding the cost of buying a new PC or Thin Client
Eliminate non work related computer usage, increasing end user productivity
Simple method to lock down a PC, reducing desktop visits by support staff
Access Vista in a VM from the current desktop, allowing for rapid testing and deployment
    Flexible implementation, simplifying desktop administration

VKernel Optimization Pack
A successful virtualization project balances proper resource allocations and utilizations with VM performance and cost per VM. With the Optimization Pack, VKernel enables organization to rapidly achieve their goals by providing a very affordable and simple-to-use toolset. Delivered as a virtual appliance, deployment is instant and users immediately begin solving their critical needs. The VKernel Optimization Pack includes three powerful management applets:

Wastefinder - quickly finds where resource capacity (CPU, memory, and storage) are being wasted in the virtual infrastructure. By identifying zombie VMs, expired snapshots, and other wasteful consumers, users can reclaim expensive capacity to optimize virtual environments and achieve a better, faster ROI.

VM Rightsizer - a simple tool for tuning your VMs with the right amount of resources (CPU, memory, and storage) to drive maximum VM densities without impacting performance. Rightsizer is unique in its ability to make recommendations and automatically implement changes to find improperly allocated resources and optimally configure VMs.

Inventory - automatically collects important information about all VMs in the virtual infrastructure and creates a detailed inventory report showing VM name, created by and when, resource allocations, and much more. The inventory is continually updated to match the dynamic environment and is searchable by different criteria to quickly find specific information.

About ObserveIT
ObserveIT provides 24x7 Record & Replay of all window sessions, whether they are remote access or console access. With support for Terminal Services, Citrix, Remote Desktop, PC-Anywhere, VMware, VNC and NetOP, ObserveIT is agnostic to protocol and to client application. ObserveIT captures textual meta-data during the recording. This detailed information on the state of the OS and the application in use allows you to find relevant user sessions without the need to replay the entire recording.

As you work with ObserveIT, you will find that it provides unique and invaluable benefits in your day to day system administration.

Screen Snapshot Audit trail - of any configuration change performed on servers and computers.
Record all methods of access - Including remote and console window sessions such as RDP, ICA, Terminal Services, VNC, NetOP.
Selective Monitoring - Limit recording to only selected applications as needed.
SQL Server Database - high performance, scalable backend for indexing and archiving all recorded sessions in a compressed and searchable format.
Identify actual users - ObserveIT Identification Services identifies the actual user even when using generic Windows login names like Administrator. Authentication with an additional user name and password can be against any LDAP data source or ObserveIT internal account database. Please refer to the Installation and Configuration Guide to learn more about setting up and configuring ObserveIT Identification Services.
Searchable metadata - find sessions with any keyword, application screen or file name within the database.
Highly compressed format - 1000 monitored servers = 75 GB of database storage per year.
ObserveIT Slide Viewer - Replay any recorded session using a VCR-like interface.
Efficient data capture - Idle time during a session when the user is not actively working is not recorded. Not only does this approach result in less database storage, it allows sessions to be reviewed quickly as only relevant actions are displayed.
Digital signing and encryption - All recorded sessions are protected against tampering.
Web Console - Intuitive and flexible web based interface for configuration and administration.
Cross Server Reports - aggregate reporting of application usage, selected user activity, and selected server access.
Context Sensitive Search - point your mouse and press F12 on any application window to get a comprehensive audit trail of all access and activity on the selected application window.
Sticky Notes Annotations - Add "Sticky Notes" to any application window. The "Sticky Note" will appear whenever anyone accesses the selected application screen on any monitored server.

About Vizioncore vOptimizer Pro for VMware ESX Server
vOptimizer Pro is the only solution for VMware ESX Server infrastructures that reclaims storage from across the virtual infrastructure to help increase storage utilization, reduce storage costs and improve VM performance.

According to industry analysts, as much as 90% of storage in virtual infrastructure is unused because of over allocations at the initial point of provisioning. With widespread adoption of virtualization, organizations are often faced with buying more [unused] storage to support their growing environments. Accepting low utilization rates adds significant cost that can quickly diminish the savings derived from virtualization initiatives. Therefore, saving money without sacrificing peak performance presents a key challenge.

vOptimizer Pro ships with the following features:

Windows Partition Alignment - Proper partition alignment is fundamental for reduced latency and increased throughput in virtual machines. vOptimizer Pro uses a patent pending process to align partitions on the 64k offset and on the 64k fold position ensures best possible performance for your VMware® software investment. Users can align volumes one at a time, or schedule multiple simultaneously to occur at non-peak times, maximizing flexibility.

VM Storage Optimization - Reclaiming and reallocating VM storage allows IT to utilize storage that has already been purchased, thus preventing or delaying future storage purchases. vOptimizer Pro makes it easy to reclaim and reallocate unused storage in VMs through a single user interface that allows administrators to resize VMs (up or down) based on business rules.

Volume Resizing Rules Engine - Reallocating unused storage in a fast, safe and dynamic way assures organizational agility and maximized resource utilization. vOptimizer Pro allows users to define the amount of free space to be left on a particular VM (either by absolute value (in MB or GB) or as a percentage of the VM size, helping reduce administration time and effort.

Storage Cost Reporting - Having a clear understanding of storage utilization and costs, while being able to make real-time adjustments in allocations, allows you to show immediate value and ROI. vOptimizer Pro shows the financial impact of reclaimed storage per virtual machine (VM), per host, and cumulative cost savings across the enterprise through historical detailed reports.
